Today in in Tuscaloosa for @ClemsonBaseball at @AlabamaBSB. Tigers ace Aidan Knaak looks sharp with 3 K in 2 strong innings, pounding zone at 92-93 and showing his typical superb feel for that disappearing changeup, which he can manipulate from 74-82 mph. Just a special pitch.
Good breakdown on Cade from Saturday.
Improvements:
- Shorter routes
- Reading defense pre-snap
- Less dangerous throws
Needs to improve:
- Late/under-thrown deep balls
- Staying with later developing routes and concepts
- Comfort while in the pocket

The line falling from 13.5 to 11.5 aligns with what i’ve heard going into this game.
UGA has some key guys out, and some playing after not practicing much all camp.
Clemson is about as healthy as you could hope.
LOTS of confidence coming from Clemson internally.
In Riley's offense, an effective screen game is crucial to success.
Since Jeff Scott's departure, Clemson's WRs have been just plain bad at blocking downfield.
They have a very tough matchup against UGA's young but extremely physical DBs.
3 Keys for Saturday
1. Hitting on a deep ball early: Make UGA respect you downfield, this will open up the run game.
2. Having SOME success on the ground: Averaging 7 YPC isn’t needed but gotta have balance.
3. Keep big plays to a minimum: can’t allow easy TDs, make them drive
Something to keep an eye on: Cade's involvement in designed run plays.
He was not physically ready to contribute to the run game last year.
When Clemson's offense is successful, the QB is a factor in the run game, especially in short-yardage and red-zone situations.
I would have more confidence about this year if UGA weren’t the first game. In ‘21, our confidence offensively was destroyed right out of the gate and never recovered. This is a better offense on paper, but a bad start COULD ruin the positive momentum we’ve heard about this camp.
