- is now praising this live action Moana which everyone I know who has seen it & most critics thinks is rubbish.

Aaand... the reactions to the new Moana prove exactly this. Supergirl is fresh, creative, and has a unique style. Yet Moana will somehow get away with it at the box office because the standard is so much lower. For some reason, DC needs to be god-tier to even have a fighting chance.

Disney held social media reactions for the 2026 live-action version of #Moana until very last minute, and now we know why, with critics being really harsh with the remake, calling the film starring #DwayneJohnson aka #TheRock & #CatherineLagaaia an ugly, soulless, uninspired remake which doesn’t add anything new and takes away the positives the animation had.

And these are just the social media reactions. The full review embargo which keeps in place until later tonight probably will release an even bigger wave of harsh criticism.

@artillery_onx not true. Captain Marvel's origin story & the ways he acts is very different.
Superman 2026 was very true to the comics & I read superman comics for yrs. Superman carries a heavy burden, u see it in the 2025 movie & new Supergirl film - he acts as a mentor, diff from Cap Marvel.
