Jun 3, 2016: After scoring 18 runs in their previous game, Tiger bats remained hot in the first game of the #Clemson Regional, overwhelming Western Carolina 24-10. It was the 10th win in a row for the 2016 ACC Champions.
Jun 2, 1996: #Clemson eliminates Oklahoma St from the College World Series with an 8-5 ten inning thriller. The game was tied 5-5 going into the 10th, and Jason Embler got the rally started by driving in the go ahead run. Two more scores cinched it for the Tigers.
Jun 1, 2007: #Clemson edges the Red Storm of St. John’s University 3-2 in the opening game of the Myrtle Beach Regional. The win would be Coach Jack Leggett’s 50th post season victory (50-28).
May 31, 2019: In the Oxford Regional, #Clemson broke out of an early 3-3 tie to take the opening game 8-4. Davis Sharpe was the winning pitcher for the Tigers, with 6 2/3 solid innings.
May 30, 2003: #Clemson wins the NCAA team golf championship, played in Stillwater OK, winning by 2 strokes over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In the picture below, Jack Ferguson sinks the putt which clinched the championship for Tigers.
May 29, 2016: #Clemson wraps up its 15th ACC Baseball Championship overall (and 10th tournament championship) in fine style, outslugging Florida State 18-13. Including weather delays, the game, played in Durham, took 9 hours and 20 minutes to complete (3:31 actual game time).
May 28, 1976: Annie Tribble is named #Clemson’s second women’s basketball coach. She replaced grad student Mary King, who coached the team in its inaugural season. Tribble would coach the Tigers through the 1986-87 season, winning 200 games before she retired.
May 27, 2006: #Clemson loses the first game against GT in the ACC Tournament semi-finals, but wins the second. The loss ended a 17 game win streak, the 4th longest in program history. The Tigers would eventually make it to Omaha, where they would face (and beat) Tech again.
@BarryHCain 41 games by Rusty Adkins over the 1965-66 seasons. It’s also an ACC record and ranks 8th all time in the NCAA. Adkins went through the 1965 season without striking out once.
May 26, 2000: Khalil Greene’s hitting streak comes to an end at 20 games. During the streak, Greene hit .458 (38 hits in 83 at bats) with 25 RBIs. It ranks 20th in hitting streak lengths in #Clemson baseball history.
May 25, 2012: The Tigers found themselves trailing FSU 6-7 in the bottom of the ninth. First baseman Jon McGibbon came to the plate and hammered a three run walk off home run to give #Clemson a 9-7 win.
May 24, 2024: In the ACC Baseball Tournament, played at Truist Field in Charlotte, #Clemson eases by Louisville 8-7. Following this win, the Tigers’ season record stood at 41-14.
May 23, 2019: #Clemson recovered from an 11 inning loss to BC by knocking off top seeded Louisville 7-1. Behind Mat Clark’s pitching, the Tigers retired the first 22 Cardinals who came to the plate and Clark came close to throwing a no-hitter.
May 22, 1987: In the second round of the NCAA South Regional in Huntsville, #Clemson gets by the Seton Hall Pirates 6-3. It was the Tigers’ 53rd win of the season, a program record at the time.
May 21, 2025: After sweeping Pitt to close out the regular season, #Clemson kept their hot streak going in their first game in the ACC Tournament, putting up 3 runs in the opening stanza and riding that to a 6-1 win behind the pitching of Aidan Knaak.
May 20, 1977: In the NCAA South Regional in Coral Gables, catcher Bill Foley breaks a 7-7 tie with Ole Miss in the bottom of the ninth with the fifth recorded walk off home run in #Clemson baseball history.
May 15, 2015: With a 9-6 win by #Clemson, #9 Florida State got swept at Dick Howser stadium in Tallahassee for the first time since 2006. The Tigers won the three game series by a combined score of 20-7. Jake Long (below) was the winning pitcher in the wrap up game.
May 14, 2023: In a game played on the Hokies’ English Field, #Clemson sweeps the 3 game series with a 9-6 win. It was the sixth straight multigame ACC series which the Tigers had won since April 8, and they swept three of those.
May 13, 1985: #Clemson invites Furman to participate in the very first nighttime varsity baseball game played at Tigertown. The Tigers made it a perfect evening with a 3-1 win over the Paladins.
May 12, 1906: First home track meet. It took place on Bowman Field and was a close contest against Georgia for most of the day. The final event of the meet, the mile run, saw #Clemson accumulate enough points to give them the edge over the Bulldogs, 59-49.
