Please be kind.
We are tearing each other apart.
Small, undeserved, kind interactions can reweave a tapestry of civility in a time of division and outrage.
As we draw closer to resuming our normal busy lives... May we treasure the unique and wonderful gift that has been presented to us last 5 months... and may we learn a thing or two or three to value for the future...
Glad to see some people can rationally place cross country as a low contact low risk sport... when will the state of Ohio finally grant us that status?
The Summit County Health Department (Akron area) has submitted this letter to schools asking for high risk sports to be delayed, shortened, and limit spectators, or consider canceling.
Early in this pandemic, Ohioans came together. You showed extraordinary kindness, care, compassion for your families, friends, neighbors, and strangers, alike.
You rose to the occasion. You answered the call. I am calling on all Ohioans to once again unite.
We must act now. This is not a drill. This is not a hoax. This is not a dress rehearsal. It’s the real thing.
The enemy is here -- and Ohioans have simply come too far in this fight to cede ground now.
DeWine: "All of us started to let our guard down—I know I have...Good decisions will protect the economy and save lives. Reckless ones will hurt and kill."
My fellow Ohioans, you have changed history with this virus before, and you can do it again - but our window of opportunity may soon be closing. As we’ve seen in FL, CA, AZ, and TX, once things start moving, they move very quickly. It is so very hard to turn things back around.
DeWine on masks: "I'm asking each one of you, wherever you live in Ohio...to wear a mask every time you go out in public." The governor has still not mandated masks be worn across the entire state.
I am asking you, wherever you live, to wear a mask when in public. Some may question the wisdom of masks, but as we said when I was a prosecutor: “The jury is back. The verdict is in.” There is broad consensus in medical, health, & business communities that masks are critical.
"Tonight, I'm asking each of you to take action now, to sacrifice now so that our kids can be in school this fall, so that they can at least have a chance to play sports, so that our businesses can remain open." @GovMikeDeWine
