@CareyVickie @ShawnRBradford @Kari06337017 @RBReich Well yeah, that human insulin, not analog and that’s been around almost 100 years. I’m pretty sure analog has only been around since the 90s though. Either way, I know some T2 that don’t take any insulin or just take something like metformin.

@CareyVickie @WeAllPod @RBReich Without insurance we’d be spending probably $2500 a year for this 1 type of insulin (most T1 need a long acting as well) alone. Again, better than nothing, but it’s still outrageously expensive and does not cost that much to make.

@CareyVickie @WeAllPod @RBReich The point being made is it’s insanely expensive no matter how you spin it and the average non-diabetic doesn’t realize that. My husband is T1 and we spend $2000 a year with really good insurance for all the insulin and testing supplies.

Just important to know the risks instead of running out to get it vs the ReliOn mentioned here that requires a prescription.
