US trip done. Ticket home booked. UK client calls — urgent fire. I switched flights to London. Why? Time. Distance. Precision. I don’t chase routes. I cut them.

@samarajiva The amendment grants sweeping discretionary powers to the Minister, with no oversight from either PUCSL or Parliament — a clear breach of governance and transparency standards, and a direct deviation from the structural benchmarks set under Sri Lanka’s @IMFNews (EFF) programme
GoSL plans to place an IPP under NTNSP — creating a clear conflict of interest. The NEAC is replaced with a committee appointed by the Minister, further politicising what should be an independent, expert-driven sector.

On 24 June 2025, it was not the Minister but the General Secretary of the committee appointed to amend the 2024 Electricity Act who issued a response — one that directly contradicts the legal language and key provisions of the proposed 2025 Electricity Amendment.

On 20 June 2025, JICA, along with the World Bank and ADB, raised major concerns about sector efficiency, good governance, and financial sustainability — also warning that vague and ambiguous language in the amendment could lead to legal challenges.

I’m glad aragalaya was brought to an end — it was anything but peaceful in its final stages. Sri Lanka has been on a path of steady recovery ever since. 🇱🇰 #lka
@Kevin57928906@RW_SRILANKA The storm had roared, the streets were wild,
With fire and fear defiled;
Yet order stood with iron will,
While chaos ran beguiled.
The boy stood firm, but so did law—
Though scorched, it did not sway;
Let memory judge both flame and shield
When time has cleared the grey.
There’s more than just rockets in this Lab — we also design and manufacture our own high-performance components for space systems and satellites, from star trackers to separation systems. End-to-end.

@Chathurangaab Trying to make both the buyer and supplier significant stakeholders in the largest IPO, and turning it into a debate over operational flexibility and corporate governance that led to its withdrawal—is definitely not the way to build investor confidence.
When greed for control overtakes vision, even a cash cow turns barren.
20B IPO withdrawn, 2.2T deficit looming. Why LTL’s exit signals deeper economic trouble?

@celticarab@NewsWireLK Politics here is depressing. We’re stuck with a government that follows economic liberalism without believing in the ideology, an opposition that can’t find its footing without becoming a laughing stock, and a majority of constituents who don’t understand politics or economics.
@celticarab@NewsWireLK Your concern is genuine. But it’ll be a disaster if the government decides to entirely replace existing NICs and issue e-NICs.
Going forward we don’t actually need NICs, we can make B/C, D/L and Passport primary documents and let people sign up for e-NIC, for the convenience.
@celticarab@NewsWireLK Mate we have 36m+ mobile connections for a 20m population. 😂
Introducing e-NIC doesn’t make the existing NIC invalid.
e-NIC needs to be a tool for convenience, to ease access for gov services. Not something you shove down a citizen’s throat for obvious privacy reasons.
