It was an honour to host Deputy PM @RichardMarlesMP at the @ASPI_org Defence Conference.
Throughout the day the discussions focused on what 🇦🇺 can, should & needs to do to increase our security and retain agency amidst an era of instability, conflict and technological change.
We are living in increasingly complex times, where it’s crucial that we’re not only investing more in defence, but investing strategically. It was great to join the ASPI Defence Conference yesterday and speak about our ongoing investment in the crucial capabilities we need to keep Australia safe, and our broader region free and open.
The issue of AI has been looming for years. Now it’s manifesting, with ‘profound consequences for how we think about building any defence force.’ In conversation at #ASPIDefCon26, Deputy PM @RichardMarlesMP underscored the need for 🇦🇺 to gain agency in the race for AI.
