Today, a new bronze statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola was installed outside the St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel at Saint Ignatius High School, depicting the moment of Ignatius’ spiritual conversion, when he laid down his sword before Our Lady of Montserrat and committed his life fully to serving Christ.

We are deeply grateful to the Gallagher family—Dennis, Patrick ’16, and Jeannie—for their generosity in bringing this beautiful work to campus, created by renowned sculptor Timothy Schmalz.

A special thank you as well to President and Chief Mission Officer Rev. Raymond P. Guiao, S.J. '82, for his inspiration in helping make this meaningful addition possible.
