Hey, I'm on Bluesky if you want to follow me there. I don't really get Threads - my feed seems to be entirely people posting about outrages by inconsiderate co-workers - but I quite like Bluesky & it feels like it's finally hit a critical mass of usability.
Why you need to run, not walk, to pick up this copy of Tim Clare's newest book The Game Changers. If you love board games, make that a sprint... https://t.co/pz0gigd5tB
I have a big article out today about being diagnosed as autistic while I was writing my latest book, & how tabletop games help me navigate the world as an autistic person. I hope it's interesting to some people.

I truly enjoyed both Tim Clare's new book, The Game Changers, and the convo we had about it on my podcast. One of the highlights of the season for me! https://t.co/sDMcDhb9nu
Ooh! I'm on the latest episode of Beyond Solitaire, talking about boardgames & writing THE GAME CHANGERS. Have a listen if you want to hear us geek out about kyogi karuta & the weird beautiful world of tabletop games history in general:

First spotting of my book 'in the wild' (a bookshop). If you live in the UK you ought to be able to go into your local & either pick up a copy or order it! I signed all the copies in Norwich Waterstones continuing my unbroken run of never being asked for proof I am the author
Hey, if you'd like to start building something new, I made a free 8 week writing course that sets you 1 exercise a day & only asks for 10 mins writing each time. It's all by podcast & the timer's included in each episode. Just grab a pen & press play.

Tim’s book, Game Changers, is a truly fascinating deep dive into our relationship with games, why we love them, and the central role they’ve played in our social history.
It may not explain the US elections, but it has a huge amount to say about humanity and our relationships.
Anyway, thank you for all the support & enthusiasm. A book doesn't really become a book until someone sits down & reads it. That's when it fulfils its purpose. So it's really lovely to see.
Um, so my book came out yesterday. It's in the world, in bookshops, on bedside tables. I'll still share stuff related to it but my most obnoxious banging on about it will decrease. I'm not a credible advocate for my own work. What matters now is if *other* people talk about it.
To an extent this sort of thing can be manufactured - what gets picked to be publishers' Superleads, what's Waterstones' Book of the Month, what gets pushed to BookTok influencers - but no one's going to rave about a book to their friend in a steamroom unless they loved it.
Got home to my pre-order… already several chapters in! It’s flaming brilliant… loving reading every word 💙
I really enjoyed reading Everybody Wins and I loved What Board Games Mean to Me but this, this is unputdownable! @TimClarePoet it’s marvellous 😁
My loves, my darlings. If you like my work & are interested to read my new book, The Game Changers: How Games Changed The World & Can Change You To, please can I nudge you to preorder via the link below, which helps me a lot while guaranteeing you a copy:
