I may have left WU in December, but there was unfinished business until graduation yesterday. It was a beautiful day to say goodbye to the university that gave me so much. It was bittersweet in many ways, but I know this is for the best. Now, back to reporting for @WTAJnews!
@JackMcCuneWTAJ I made the switch a couple weeks ago and will never look back. Better quality, better user interface, and basically no AI features… all for a lower price. Spotify can keep making all the updates they want. I won’t be there.
Just one snapshot of the damage in Bellefonte’s Union Cemetery. Someone with the cemetery already tells me they are asking for donations to help pay for repairs.
Tonight is the DOC’s hearing about the proposed closure of SCI Rockview. One resident tells me they hope their voices are heard, and you can see more tonight on @WTAJnews.
Rep. Paul Takac is hosting the first of his five listening sessions about the proposed closure of SCI Rockview. Community members are voicing their concerns with how a shutdown would impact their families and the area.
@NintendoAmerica Picked up my copy this morning. I’m super interested to see what changes were made to the base game and ESPECIALLY what the extra story content holds.
I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning:
I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages.
We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.
There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job.
I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.
I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction.
I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void.

First time at THON. I couldn’t hear myself think, but it was pretty fun! The energy in there was electric. Centre County continues to surprise me with how much I enjoy it here.
@thegameawards It’s between Celeste and Sonic Unleashed for me. Celeste has a great mix of emotional tracks mixed with upbeat songs. Unleashed’s focus on instruments/sounds from around the world is incredibly unique and is basically what got me into video game music in the first place.
@ToonHive Watched this series for the first time less than a month ago. I braced myself for what I had been told was a bad ending. Against all odds, I actually enjoyed it. In fact, it’s one of my new favorite cartoon endings. It has a lot of meaning.
