This morning, @NationalParents submitted a statement for the record on child poverty to @SenateFinance on the child tax credit, facilitated a statewide math coalition, connected with parents on a bill that is being heard in committee next week in Massachusetts and connected with a parent at a magnet school who is getting ready to file an OCR complaint for exclusionary discipline.

INCONVENIENT TRUTH: You can fight to protect a children's right to learn about, express and celebrate their identity while also demanding they have a right to read and a path to economic mobility. But you cannot say you stand for "equity" and remain silent against hate.

We have supported successful state efforts to create systems of transparency and accountability for ESSR funding, efforts to guarantee the right to read, efforts to feed hungry kids and efforts to expand great school options for kids.

This year, our members have connected with every member of Congress and continue to support efforts to expand the child tax credit and establish clear student achievement requirements for kids.
