HOME AFFAIRS OFFICIALS | Two Home Affairs officials, David Motsamai (35) and Lufu Mulaudzi (39), appeared before the Germiston Magistrates’ Court in connection with an alleged syndicate involved in the fraudulent acquisition of South African passports. The accused, who were stationed at the Department of Home Affairs office in Germiston, face multiple counts of fraud, with alternative charges relating to alleged contraventions of the Immigration Act.
The investigation into the alleged passport fraud syndicate commenced in 2021 under Project Humulani. Investigations allegedly uncovered a scheme in which the identity details of South African citizens were unlawfully used by replacing their photographs with those of foreign nationals.
The State alleges that the scheme was intended to enable foreign nationals to fraudulently obtain South African passports and conceal their true identities and immigration status.
The State further alleges that Motsamai and Mulaudzi acted in common purpose with other individuals, some of whom are not yet known to the State. The charges relate to multiple alleged incidents involving the fraudulent use of South African citizens’ identity details in passport applications processed at the Germiston Home Affairs office.
Both accused were granted bail of R5 000 each. The matter was postponed to 26 October 2026 for transfer to the Regional Court.

Another deadly strike hits Saudi Arabia's busiest airport, and now the U.S. could be drawn deeper into the conflict.
At least one person is dead and multiple people are injured after a new attack strikes Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, just one day after a Houthi missile strike killed 13 people, including an American, and wounded more than 300.
The Iranian-backed rebels are now warning airlines and travelers to stay out of Saudi airports and airspace, with exceptions for Mecca and Medina.

BREAKING: 🇷🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦 Zelenskyy indicated that Ukraine would attack Russian ships carrying diesel to the US.
Zelenskyy indicated that Trump needs to strike a deal with him if he wants Ukraine to refrain from attacking the oil tankers transporting diesel to the US.

I don’t believe the volume of diesel Russia will export will affect the price. Moreover, we see that they can export from 300,000 to 500,000 tons a month today. Meanwhile, global consumption stands at 120 million tons a month. What kind of impact can that have? I don’t think it would have any. If some people think otherwise, so be it.
So I believe there are entirely different reasons behind these actions. If this is the approach, then why isn’t America making a “diesel deal” with Ukraine? Let Ukraine propose a “diesel deal.” We do have influence over whether these ships can sail or not, whether these refineries can operate or not. If that’s the case, then let’s do it.
Electricity is what matters to us. That’s clear. If we can be guaranteed protection for our power system, then we will not strike Russia’s diesel infrastructure in response. Electricity is first and foremost about helping people – keeping their lights on. It also means helping Europe. Everyone knows that we are connected to the European power grid. And if our energy infrastructure is not being destroyed, we can help some countries that are facing shortages by supplying them with cheaper electricity.
So, yes, let’s sign a corresponding “diesel deal” with the President of the United States.

🚨🇺🇦🇺🇸🇷🇺 Zelensky says he was COMPLETELY unaware of the energy ceasefire Trump just announced...
Zelensky:
“It was news for me.”
Trump declared earlier that both Russia and Ukraine had agreed to immediately stop attacking each other's energy infrastructure.
“If Trump negotiated it with Putin, please tell us when the ceasefire begins.
We are ready, and we will accept it.”
Zelensky made clear that Ukraine is willing to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities if Moscow does the same.
But Russia has yet to confirm the agreement.
