Just because you applied insecticide with your fungicide, it doesn’t mean it killed all your WCRW adults. Better scout if you’re going back to corn in ‘24 . There are some messes out there.
“ Will that @PioneerSeeds that I planted in April 12th 2023 be ok? It got pretty 🥶 over the weekend!”
Yes! I took 4 hybrids and exhumed seedlings that had barely sprouted from a 4-12 planted plot and some leftover from the bag and did a warm germ test. Good so far!
7pm last evening was 46.2 degrees , 7am this morning 39.4. The ISU temps are in the ball park. If you are planting into these soil temps know the risks. Just like livestock... the 1st 24-48 hrs r the most important. 45+ & warming best chance for success!

I really like this video, perfectly explaining how a #UAV should work. But still I am wondering which are the actual field conditions (crop? slope? accessibility?) making a 10 liters #drone solution really profitable 🚁

Root pictures are great, but have you seen our stalks and ears? Pioneer® brand Qrome® products don’t sacrifice plant health or yield potential for the sake of roots. The proof is in the bin. https://t.co/nSWtqyzGwX
🌽 Yield Update: Here is 50:50 plot with Dekalb & Pioneer near Northrop, MN.
Outstanding Performance from Pioneer w/ a plot average of 259.1 bu/A vs. 249.8 bu/A from Dekalb, that’s a 9.3 bu/A advantage! Pioneer took 8 of the top 9 spots with other spot being Croplan not DeKalb.
When we had a root pit open a couple of weeks back, we took soil samples at various depths. Since the roots were 40+ inches deep, we were curious what fertility they are pulling at depth. Interesting results, especially with K!
From Pottebaum Crop Services near Manchester, IA... Never seen 24 around b 4 in all my 25+ years in the business.... That area will be a honey hole for yields in 2022. P0529Q... new for 2023
Forecasted heat will have waterhemp growing over 1" per day next week. B sure to keep focus on herbicide applications as field & weather conditions permit! After 4" height control becomes very difficult.
Feeling like your soybeans r 2 small 4 post herb apps?? Data shows post apps w/residual herbicide give best control of weeds (esp waterhemp) throughout the season when applied within 30 days after planting, b/c most of residual makes it 2 the soil & not absorbed by crop/weeds.
Some words of advise from our CP lead in IA with doing post spraying in the cold weather. Wanting to not have a repeat of last years crop response. If possible waiting until later in the week might be best.
