Reunited with my childhood car โ this exquisite 240 GLT from Volvoโs heritage collection. An emotional moment, with smells and sounds, sights and switchgear that took me straight back to our 1983 240 DL and 1974 145 wagon before that. Bliss! ๐
Drove the Skoda Felicia Super roadster from 1963 this week: a 1.2-litre convertible into which I just about squeezed. With no seatbelts, I didnโt go anywhere near its 81mph top speed, but I can confirm itโs justly named after the Latin word for happiness! ๐
The new issue of @CARmagazine is out tomorrow โ and it's packed with brilliant stories about cars. Like our first drive of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, a Land Rover Defender Octa vs Ariel Nomad mudfest, and coast-to-coast banger road trip in ยฃ1500 eBay bargains. Donโt miss it! ๐

A JZR trike! Thought it was an old-timer Morgan Three Wheeler at first glance, but turns out itโs the one made by John Ziemba Restorations in Lancashire.
This rarity fitted in beautifully among the honeyed Rutland limestone ๐
Quick go in the @CARmagazine Audi S3 Saloon long-termer. Iโve always liked the A3 notchback shape and it works well on Audi Sport performance duty, especially in classy District Green (an ยฃ595 extra). Fizzy and fast, sensible and suave. Brittle ride though

Still such a progressive design, 27 years on. Hard to overstate how much better the Focus was than the Escort that went before, how it raised the standard of mainstream car dynamics and how it injected more progressive design into the volume sector. A proper game-changer! ๐ ๐ค
@StephensonC@cjhope90 Trueโฆ but modern heated screens have much thinner filaments nowadays โ in my experience they suffer from less glare in eg direct sunlight or at nighttime. Have certainly suffered some clunkers in the past though!
@paullittle12@AndrewxMontague New Edge ripped up the rulebook. It was that pairing of progressive, modern designs with brilliant dynamics that really made mass-market European Fords sizzle for the best part of a decade or two ๐ง
