Most often, raising up leaders in your ministry isn't a huge program or a well-organized process. It often looks more like asking people to help, giving someone a bite-sized role, inviting someone to serve, and then waiting about ten years.
Paul was kept from preaching in Asia. Then he tried Bithynia, and Luke records that "the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them" (Acts 16:7). Two dead ends in a row. Then came a vision in the night: a man of Macedonia pleading for help. The gospel crossed into Europe because of a route that didn't work.
A closed road can feel like failure. In God's hands, it's often redirection.
"The moment that you receive Jesus Christ as Savior, it doesn't mean that you complete the journey immediately. It means that you start. It means that you're born anew." βBilly Graham
