I am leading a conversation (Webinar) called Interconnected tomorrow at 2pm
It is about how Physical, Mental and spiritual health are interconnected and looks at how we can thrive in a disabling world.
If you wish to come along please DM me and I’ll send you the link
@KtTup@KreftRudhlas Which of course you didn’t, in fact your words assumed they were disabled and had forgotten their badge…. So infuriating. And then call you a liar! Disgusted!
This sums up academic life with pain…. I began work this morning and did a good hour, planning and thinking and writing things down…. Then my body said, enough!
An hour later I was waking up in pain in my office chair
One final weekend and I’m finished! Prayers appreciated!
Trying to find blogs of disabled Christian’s who have been a part of a pioneer community or FX of church. if you have can you link below
I need it for my MA as I am unable to interview, but would like to add more disabled voices
@DisabilityJ@YouBelong_2019@churchofengland
@bbcemt I travel weekly from Chesterfield Nottingham on Northern rail, but EMR won't let me on their trains either.
I have half the trains to choose from than my wife !
@MathewsAnnika@rmbastable Well said Annika and I don’t want to see the C of E torn down, but I also don’t want it to stand for what it has done in the past, and more worryingly often still does!
@choochoolfc@Tanni_GT@HuwMerriman@Mark_J_Harper My experience on the little bit of northern rail I use is that the guard will deploy the ramps on similar looking trains. Sometimes after a grumpy look and a question of do you have a permit (I’m on a mobility scooter!)
@bexwhitworth@AShettle @DanTee2Tech @softsoulcomplex@BarnsleyCouncil Give me a date and I’ll happily come and ‘park’ my mobility scooter in the road outside the pub! Get 20 wheelchair users in a line stopping cars for 20 mins might make the news anyway!
@KayMorgan_Gurr @Janeywoo1971 They are all different, but the 'prove you need a carer' bit seems like new to me (I usually do football stadiums that usually assume you will once you've proved your disability)
I think the question may have been asked for Wembley this year, but there, I do need assistance!
@naomi_jacobs Just started reading your first part of this - whilst listening to urgent and driving Jean-Michel Jarre music...
The push to be recognised but still having to play by their game and the tension and drive in the music was coincidentally rather moving...
Thanks for this paper
@MartynBowler As long as assistance dogs are welcomed that’s fine
In a disability survey i carried out 3yrs ago 75% of church leaders said assistance dogs would be welcome
For assistance dogs it is a legal requirement under the equalities act! It has to be 100%
