@keyman_2112@OleTimeHardball His peak 5 years? 100% True. Not his fault that his arm problems forced him to retire at age 30. His last 2 seasons he won CYA, when they only gave out one for entire MLB. Led NL in ERA his last 4 years; WHIP 4 out of last 5; K's 3 of last 4; WAR and ERA+ 2 of last 4, etc.
@Jimfrombaseball Phil Rizzuto should still be waiting for the HOF. He's in because his contemporary across town Pee Wee Reese is in. Pee Wee is deserving; Rizzuto comes up short (no pun intended.)
@paulasue68@zillowgonewild The address may be Stockton, but that island is in the middle of the Delta- the middle of agricultural land- and not in the middle of Stockton. Just check the pics.
@johnehoover@AlTheBoss03 Except he had the tip cut off in the off-season. It was that or bone-graft surgery and he would have missed a couple of games at the start of the 1986 season. Lott is on record saying he wished he hadn’t had it cut off.
@BaseballQuotes1 Not brutal under the circumstances. They're down 4 with 2 outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 9th. It's not like the tying or winning run was 90 feet away.
@OleTimeHardball It’s Koufa all the way. Semi-related question: How would Maddux do today with ABS? He was known for getting the umpire to expand the width of the strike zone. I don’t think that would fly today.
@BBGreatMoments JD Martinez because I was at that game. Prior to that Lou Gehrig because the day he did it was the day John McGraw retired as Giants manager, and he got the headlines that day, not Gehrig.
@BYUPhillySports@OleTimeHardball He already is dropping off a little bit. It would be great to see him finish with a .300 average, but I don’t think that will happen. HOF? Yes. 1st ballot? Don’t know.
