@MediaSmarts Let’s start with just one week of intelligent, adult interaction through social media. It is so essential that we use these platforms in responsible ways!
Happy #MediaLiteracyWeek! 🥳
We’re looking forward to five days of learning, awareness raising, skill building and more.

@CaulfieldTim@MediaSmarts Right you are! It’s often said that the reason for an action is the reaction it gets. In this case interferers want suspicion, disruption and chaos. If the lie is believed that’s a bonus.
A fun and fast paced smorgasbord of ideas and cutting edge solutions. Tune in, hang on, and witness the growth edge of information and research in mental health. Recommended viewing.
When the wealth of the wealthy is more important than the lives of the poor you know a society is failing. We must question the system and the values it is based on that allows this to happen. And we all own a piece of that.
What a wonderful bunch of people! Great organizations are great because of the folks involved; staff, management, and volunteers. CMHAO is indeed fortunate to have the strategic guidance of these individuals. And they look so happy doing it!
Thank you, Admir, Chris, Jessica, Jette, John, Lynne, Mary, Marya, Matthew, Nabanita, Nathalie, Peter, Shannon, and Vincent. We appreciate each of your unique contributions and are proud to have you as our Board of Directors.
Way to go Kathleen! Great explanations - mental health and physical health are so interconnected. Can’t wait to participate - thank goodness it’s leap year and we have an extra day to make our 2,000 push-ups .
We had a blast on @CTVOttMornLive talking about The Push-Up Challenge!
Watch Kathleen Sowinski, Nursing Manager at CMHA Ottawa, square off against @Stefan_Keyes in a live, on air push-up competition!

Scattered site housing! Allows true integration, supports as and when needed, dignity, independence, better health, and reduced drain on health care and housing systems. This is the gold standard for a reason.
CMHA Ottawa is one of the biggest providers of #HousingFirst in Canada. We got to spend some time with its visionary inventor, @SamTsemberis.

Dr. Susan Farrell engaged in an enriching conversation with Dr. Tsemberis, followed by a dynamic Q&A featuring experts like Leif Harris, @CatharineV, and Dr. @TimAubry.
Two great leaders! In two great organizations! The future of community mental health care is in good hands - now let’s get behind them and make things happen.
Our executive director, Dr. Susan Farrell, is joined by Camille Quenneville, CEO of @CMHAOntario after our 70th anniversary open house yesterday. Thanks for celebrating with us, @CamilleQu!
LCA is working hard with our elected officials, city staff & social services to dramatically change the way we help our vulnerable. Mega shelters concentrated in a small area are not the solution: small-scale emergency housing located in EACH of our 24 wards, along with services.
Indeed. Small changes in density add up and don't alter the community's vibe. And now if we can just get pre-approved designs and fast track permits construction will be easier and cheaper.
CMHA Ottawa is thrilled to welcome its new Executive Director, Dr. Susan Farrell, a dedicated and visionary leader in community-based mental health services!
