@rlthoma@b1gnate_11@KensethFan17_20 F1 cars and Indycars are roughly the same weight. I think the new hybrid unit has added a lot of unneeded weight, same with the aeroscreen (though needed)
@Hickey93@_OchoJohnson_ Forgive my inclusion of Toyota. It was Honda that had been “whistling” the valve by having a different setup for the plenum that they were using to make the valve see lower pressure. In any case each OEM had their tricks that probably ended up being noticed through Texas weekend.
@Hickey93@_OchoJohnson_ What ended up happening in Detroit of 2001. Honda and Toyota had both created ways around the pop off valve that would cheat the sensor. They were buildin turbo pressure beyond what the CART mandated pop off should allow. CART responded in their usual way

@Hickey93@_OchoJohnson_ It is wild how the whole Popoff-gate controversy played a part in this too. OEMs and teams had to lie and say the engines couldn’t handle a sudden change like going to a Roval or something because of harmonics, etc. All to hide the pop off valve cheat.
And it killed CART.
@indy44 What’s wild to me is why would you use this in the graphic and not “2003 Indycar Champion”
Because he is! Champ car and Indycar share histories. This man is an Indycar champion. And that’s not even bringing up the fact that he was robbed in ‘02.
@S1apSh0es Let’s not forget that bias ply tires made it more like they were pointing a behemoth like a missile instead of deftly piloting a neutered sports car on radials.
@kuikkafan94@dukesdoctrine@cursorsz @iamthemann66 @NickADobos The CAFE regulations starting in 2008 focused on attaching “footprint” to fuel efficiency. The smaller the footprint, the higher the MPG needed before fines. But due to recession, companies couldn’t match targets and regulations adjusted to match, meaning they’re all bogus.
@1mustangcharlie@Race_Rich@garygodsoe@f1trollofficial Considering those first two teams existed (at least) for 14 and 11 years respectively, that doesnt really plead much to your case.
“Oh wow the car doesnt matter you can succeed in midfield cars! You just need to get lucky in this decade long window and hit it at the right time”
@DLand91 The Swift I-70 concept is one of the best race car concepts I ever ever seen. If they revealed this as the current wind tunnel mode I would be ecstatic
@juggwalk@aysanotmad @DAIHIME_SAMA Context doesn’t help: chitauri invading, one of the Nazi generals of Caps past turns out to be a chitauri. So hes kicking Caps ass and tells him to surrender. Thats about it.
I liked Ultimates 2 way more than 1 or 3. And ultimate cap is indeed a miserable PoS. Nutshots everyday
Fontana 1997 | After Juan Fangio had an engine blow up, the real start happened here on lap 12 with Big Mo Gugelmin leading the pack. Turn it up and enjoy the sounds of these incredible machines. #upscaled
