Ron DeSantis is out here calling the Iran war a “big, big drag,” slamming Trump and Republicans for gaslighting voters on high gas prices, and positioning himself as the honest America First critic ahead of 2028.

Flashback: as a Congressman he said that if he could pick one thing to change in the world, having protesters overthrow the Iranian regime would be one of the best things for “peace in our time.”

He spent years pushing maximum pressure, backing bombings, calling the regime pledged to jihad with no deal possible, and going after anyone (including Trump) who wasn’t hawkish enough on Iran and Israel.

The flip-flop is obvious once the political cost hit. Neocon talking points when they were popular. “I told you so” once they weren’t
