@MikeHoit I'd say SLBO beats that thrush! OBO being one of my most memorable birds ever. Ace that you got the Dholes you were after though. Intending to catch up with you on Sloth Bear next month ๐ค!
Genuine moment of shock this pm when I bumped into the Kergord Bluetail again! Assumed long-departed like most of the recent migrants. Day 7 (at least) for this wee cracker. Miserable foggy rainy weather didn't help, but can't resist posting the best of the poor pics...
Slight improvement on yesterday's pics: the adult male Bluetail at Kergord in Shetland, especially for fans of a rare plumage! Only saw it twice today in 5 hours, and never below 10m. Absolutely awesome to see it enjoying a few seconds of sunshine!

...and appallingly badly. Some folk didn't connect at all, and I think these are the only (awful) photos emerging so far. But you get the idea! @birdguides@natureinshet 2/2
Watching a YBW this pm at Kergord, Shetland, when I realised it wasn't alone up there, 15m up a sycamore. The huge orange wash to the flank was instantly recognisable, but some of the other details were a 'surprise'... Adult male Bluetail, showing very infrequently... 1/2
After some bad weather days, some quiet days, and some failing-to-photograph the good birds days: nice to get a record of the Haroldswick Ortolan this morning!
