@Simon_Mongey Congratulations, Adrien, Niklas, Simon, and Gianluca!
“Firm and Worker Dynamics in a Frictional Labor Market” is a wonderful piece of economic research.
The yell "Ice out!" started in northern New England but is especially popular in Minnesota, which is colder and has more lakes. It means ice layer on top of a lake has finally melted in the Spring. "ICE out!" means something else but is also a cause for celebration.
ICE out!
It has been painful. There has been a lot of suffering, human and economic. There has been unwarranted violence and criminal activity by federal agents.
But the people of Minnesota won!

I spent last week visiting the Minneapolis Fed. Always fantastic to interact with the Minnesota macro crowd, but this visit was different. Never seen a city so united and determined. In every encounter, even the most random, their civic pride was shining. Thank you, Minneapolis.
An excellent article (in Spanish) about Minnesota and the cities of Minneapolis and St Paul written by an Argentinian.

A thread on the late @StanfordGSB professor and economist Donald John Roberts’s greatest academic hits. A true pioneer in organizational economics and economic theory. THREAD🧵
Federal judge in Minneapolis appointed by George W. Bush:
“ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”
