@RyanJHall@IVHSSports Nine going both ways. I really think the situation at Althoff overshadowed a great story for CC. Then Montini playing right after didn’t help either. Everyone I’ve talked to about CC said they are great kids and coaches. Easy to root for once I learned more about them.
@RyanJHall Love it! This is not a school that went out & loaded up with someone else’s talent. They worked hard & should relish in their success. I, for one, love their story.
.@CCHSKnights_FB held @MTFFootball's vaunted high-octane offense to just 23 total yards to win the Class 2A championship game 47-0 and the school's first state title.
@thesouc's story:

Chicago Christian finished with 446 total yards of offense while holding Maroa-Forsyth to 23 yards.
That's a state record for the title game in any class. Joliet Catholic held LaSalle-Peru to 30 yards in 1978.

@CCHSKnights_FB sets record across all classes in the state championship game with fewest yards allowed at 23.
The previous record was 30 allowed by JCA in 1978 against LaSalle-Peru.
It needs to be noted that as the private school outrage inevitably pours in, Chicago Christian does not fit the typical narrative. They lost 42-6 to Maroa-Forsyth last year and beat them 47-0 today with more or less same team. 34 kids, 9 seniors starting both ways. A fairytale.
