@japan_nobunaga By celebrating the gaffe, it makes light of the situation and removes the sting of embarrassment entirely. Turning away to spare someone the embarrassment seems to me to make it worse.

@japan_nobunaga To be fair we had a lot of misbehaving soldiers on those bases. Their actions were and are shameful as guests in Japan. I hope our armed forces have become more professional since those days.
