“There’s a much colder breeze that’s blowing across America. Howling winds of xenophobia and hatred, and cruelty for cruelty sake.” —Sen. Raphael Warnock in Minneapolis
@SadBoyAngryMan Different movie but hung out w a mom friend this weekend who said she wasn't going to see the Barbie movie because she doesn't like that it's "all about celebrating a blonde/white/idealized version of beauty". I was like uh maybe you WOULD like it then...
This move was inspired by a bit in the 1943 Bugs Bunny cartoon Falling Hare where he gets hit on the head, extends his leg out to take a step and immediately smashes down on the floor. I had that cartoon on a dollar-store public-domain video as a kid and wore out the tape!
This was one of the trickiest shots in 'Nightclub', but also most exciting to work on. I wanted to show Vanessica losing control of her smearing/distortions while maintaining a coherent performance. A lot of it was just following the ups & downs in @_phylville 's amazing vocals!
Yet board artists and writers on these shows don't make any residuals..."We feel that animation writers' work quality does not equate to that of live action work levels." -Carol Lombardini, AMPTP
This was one of the first shots I animated in Nightclub. Wild movement with limbs flailing is always fun (and forgiving) so it was a good warm-up. I always start with small shots--the key is just building some progress/momentum rather than trying to hit the heaviest shots first.
Though they initially tried to have me removed from the public seating area, I am here working on behalf of my constituents as best I can given the undemocratic circumstances.
I'm talking to legislators, listening to debate, voting on bills, and fighting for democracy.
I rotoscoped this shot from a video demo of some basic aerial silk moves, I don't know anything about that stuff but I wanted it to feel convincing enough to sell the big fancy club spectacle atmosphere
