Another major step forward at the Akadeemia tee #reconstruction project.
This week we are installing prefabricated roof elements together with the top floor wall elements, helping to speed up the construction process while maintaining high quality standards on site.
The roof elements were fully manufactured in the factory and delivered with a pre-installed Protan roofing membrane. On site, the membrane seams are welded together to ensure a durable and weather-tight roofing solution.
Great teamwork and precise coordination by everyone involved in making this phase happen safely and efficiently.

In the Akadeemia tee reconstruction project, quality is not defined only by what is visible on the façade – but also by what remains inside the structure.
In the elements produced at Timbeco factory, we implemented well-considered @Riwega window sealing and airtightness solutions:
• Riwega Micro 100 Vario – a hygroscopic vapour barrier that adapts moisture permeability based on environmental conditions
• Riwega Tape Green – a high-adhesion internal tape ensuring airtight connections
• Riwega FDB Vario – a window tape providing water-, wind- and airtight sealing for both interior and exterior applications
These solutions are not just details – they regulate the building’s moisture performance, improve #airtightness, and help ensure long-term durability.

The reconstruction project of Akadeemia tee 6 is progressing steadily, and by today, most of the façade elements have been successfully installed. Approximately half of the apartment building’s façade elements are already in place, giving the building an increasingly renewed appearance and bringing us step by step closer to a more energy-efficient and modern final result.
Alongside the façade works, active preparations are also taking place on the roof, where the installation of roof elements is being prepared. Work on the roof includes preparations for the roof element installation as well as the installation of ventilation ducts, which are directed down along the façade into the apartments, ensuring a modern and efficient ventilation solution for the entire building. The old ventilation shafts will not be used in the reconstruction process.
Projects like this are not only about improving the visual appearance of the building, but also about creating a better indoor climate, lower energy costs, and a more comfortable living environment for residents for years to come.
A big thank you to all partners and teams contributing to the successful completion of this project!

Last week, students from the Building Design and Architecture programme at @TallinnTech Tartu College visited Timbeco factory.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce future engineers to the important role engineers play in creating modular homes.
An engineer helps turn an architect’s vision into a technically feasible solution by considering production, transportation, and installation. In a modular house factory, engineers work closely with architects and production teams to ensure high-quality and efficient results.
It is important to understand that a good engineer sees the whole process as one complete journey – from the first idea to the finished home.
