Presided over a Waqf empowerment event hosted by Wajir South Member of Parliament, Hon. Mohammed Adow, in support of the Al-Nibras Foundation's Madrasas in Wajir South and the wider region.
The initiative seeks to mobilize resources for the purchase of land and construction of a permanent Waqf project in Nairobi’s South C, ensuring sustainable support for religious education and strengthening institutions under the foundation.
In my remarks, I encouraged leaders to emulate Hon. Adow's efforts in advancing and sustaining religious learning through such initiatives.
On the political front, I urged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to uphold personal integrity and address longstanding family concerns, including allegations of disinheriting the widow and children of his late brother, before purporting to lecture others on accountability, particularly regarding the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Notably, SHA has recorded significant milestones over the past 19 months. Over KSh 19 billion has been disbursed for primary health care (PHC), marking a tenfold increase from previous administrations. Additionally, KSh 121 billion has been paid out; nearly double the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) levels, while over 30 million Kenyans are now registered and accessing primary health care, compared to just 3 million under the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
These gains affirm the steady progress being made toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The noble event was attended by, among others, Wajir Deputy Governor H.E Ahmed Muhumed, Wajir Senator Hon. Mohamed Abass Sheikh, Former Mandera Senator Hon. Billow Kerrow, MPs Hon. Maj (Rtd) Dekow Barrow (Garissa Township) and Hon. Ibrahim Abdi Saney (Wajir North), among others.
Paid a courtesy call to H.E. Governor Abdulswamad Sharrif at the start of my comprehensive health sector visit to Mombasa County.
Our discussions focused on practical strategies to further strengthen the county’s health sector, with particular emphasis on service delivery, sustainability, and patient outcomes.
Mombasa County continues to lead nationally in Social Health Authority (SHA) registration, having enrolled over 695,494 residents—representing 58% of its target population. This achievement reflects strong county leadership and effective collaboration between the national and county governments in advancing Universal Health Coverage(UHC).
I underscored the Ministry’s completion of nationally coordinated Service Level Agreements (SLAs) designed to guarantee structured preventive maintenance and rapid fault response for critical medical equipment across all regional cancer centres, including Mombasa. We will not allow multi-million-shilling machines to remain idle while patients suffer due to avoidable delays.
I further noted the ongoing installation of the Green Label Charter across all public and private primary healthcare facilities to promote accountability, quality standards, and patient-centred care. In addition, I encouraged early cancer screening services a critical step that will enhance early detection, timely referral, and improved treatment outcomes for cancer patients.
We also reviewed the proposal to establish a dedicated SHA account for regional cancer centres to support more efficient service delivery, faster turnaround times, and uninterrupted care for patients requiring specialised cancer treatment.
Wajir South MP @Moadow has been the most impactful and effective legislators from Northern region of Kenya. This man is doing wonders in his constituency. #development#progress@ole_abdinoor
Saluting MP Hon @Moadow .
Through the Wajir South @NGCDF_Kenya and his personal contribution,

The new graduates will now easily address teacher shortage in the expansive constituency.
