Mental health is a subject that has always had stigmas attached to it. But very recently, these stigmas have been slowly getting broken down by talking so much more about it. Time 2 Talk - Breaking Stigmas will ALWAYS talk about mental health both from a personal and general view
@EleanorSegall Thank you, I cancelled all plans this week just to recuperate. However I cannot stand my own company for long so I'm going to see my family tomorrow and look after my sister. Thank you again.
Today I feel like the inside of me is slowly crushing itself, my mind is constantly on overthink mode and I'm struggling to pick myself up. Depression and anxiety doesn't have a time limit, I've been feeling like this for over a month now. I've survived so far.
Chris Whitaker has started his own public speaking business and having met him on Friday at Black Mass, it's safe to say he's an incredible speaker. Please do feel free to ask any questions you have for him. Follow him at @ExperiencedT
The next Time 2 Talk - Breaking Stigmas group session is on the 5th of September from 6pm to 8pm at Chatterbox Community Cafe. Please spread the word :)
I got nothing but warm applause and again when I spoke openly about how suicide has impacted my life before and after I came out. I just wanted to say that the other speakers there did an amazing job. I'm proud of them all. @andysmanclubuk was represented by the lovely Lee.
I spoke in front of a crowd for the first time this year. I have done talks before but this one was a chance for me to prove myself since coming out as transgender (FTM). I was anxious, I was petrified but the minute I revealed that information to people....
It shouldn't take a breakdown, suicide attempt, hospital admissions etc for Mental Health to be taken seriously. Mental and physical health need to be equal
Bad back? Painkillers, investigations and physio within weeks
Mental Health? Anti depressants and a year long waiting list
Just a reminder I will be speaking at the Food for Thought event tomorrow night at Black Mass in Wakefield. Food donations instead of a usual entry fee and the doors open at 7pm. Please come on down and support what should be a wonderful and moving night.
