@cartoonlover826 I really think the most fun I had with The Doctor was with 12's first series. Gone was the mask of young, giddy enthusiasm. Gone was the facade of romantic heroism. Here stands this properly alien being, both ancient and yet brand new, no longer hiding his age. Loved it.
@DoctorWhoWorld_ Only have one companion (Yaz) to put laser focus on The Doctor and Yaz's character developments and relationships to each other, and to strengthen the Timeless Child storyline into an actual story arc that gets resolved within 13's tenure. And never blow up Gallifrey.
@DoctorWhoWorld_ If nothing else, it has literally the single greatest story engine in all of long form fiction. Anywhere in time and space, anything that has ever happened or ever will. Literal infinite possibilities in storytelling. Any genre, any kind of plot, nearly anything goes.
@WhovianLife The proper return of Susan Foreman along with Romana leading to the full restoration of the Time Lords and the establishment of New Gallifrey. So that way, The Doctor can fully leave their angst about that behind and run the f@&k away again. Move on finally.
@khmawswann@JoshuaGoji I feel like that sentence is divorced of necessary context. Wick was held at magical gunpoint by Primus Tachonis himself to either prove his fealty and ruthlessness to him by killing one of Primus' servants or he would kill them both. Wicander only had the one option.
@Scarletkoito111 He was black, a Democrat, with Hussein as his middle name, had a black wife who was unapologetically herself and fully in control of her power, and he refused to make any kind of spectacle of himself. It's like he was precision engineered in a lab to piss off the right.
@DoctorWhoWorld_ Partially, yes. The Doctor needs to travel with more varied sets of companions than just 20-somethings from London. Humans from the past and future, non human companions. Variety is the spark of good storytelling, the companions need to be as diverse as the Doctors.
@Hombrelmparable How is this that difficult? You make a new version of the character. The entire purpose of Casino Royale was to create a break in continuity with the previous films so that they could have a distinctly new version of Bond. Just do it again. Start afresh. IO interactive did it.
@TheSameSonic I mean everyone has a different favorite and least favorite. Depends on aesthetics and preferences. Me personally, I always liked the gothic-esque but also kinda comfy and lived in look of the TV movie TARDIS. 12's TARDIS is a close second for the same reasons.
@eveofthedaleks Cos standard new production and art design after creative team changes. Same with the TARDIS. When Doctor Who inevitably returns, fingers crossed, nothing about it should look or feel the same.
@bornposting For every height of No Time to Die (and it has some high highs), it's lows are equally precipitous. As much as I love how well it finishes the Craig era's masterstroke of humanizing Bond, the plot is simply too contrived and it's villain too hollow. OHMSS is the better film.
@dxctr_m4ster Honestly, go back to the 25-ish minute serials if necessary. I will gladly take a season with 3 or 4 stories, 3 or 4 episodes a pop if that's what it takes. Maybe an hour long Christmas special to cap off the year. That would be amazing.
@SpencerTracyFan A couple decade long bias against starting with S1 because A) it's the cheapest and worst aged season of the New Series and B) cos Eccleston is only in it for one season and Tennant is the fan favorite. Never mind that 9 is magnificent and S1 is essential viewing regardless.
@TheAlexSylvian The fitness regimen for Nobody is what he attributes to saving his life when he had a heart attack, so he's probably doing these action movies to keep himself as healthy and fit as possible as he ages.
@womanwhofell Mismanagement from the word go. It's not that it's woke, Star Trek has always been and needs to remain inherently progressive, but it used to be written by people from a broad swath of backgrounds and perspectives, military and civilian both. Now it's made by an LA echo chamber.
@WhovianLife It did have good stories. Wild Blue Yonder, BOOM, 73 Yards, Dot and Bubble, Rogue, The Robot Revolution, Lux, The Well, The Story and the Engine. These are fantastic stories. Plus, Ncuti is of course phenomenal and deserved a more fulfilling tenure.
@eveofthedaleks RTD and his team were desperately grasping at straws trying to contrive a reason that the BBC HAD to bring them back. So, an insane cliffhanger purposely designed to confuse and infuriate as a lifeline towards returning. Obviously, it failed. That's what RTD is so salty about.
@joyevaded@bornposting I would say that that argument only really applies to Resurrection, which is nowhere near a good or even competent movie but still has such wild and earnest swings it's kinda charming. Prometheus and Covenant insult the audiences intelligence too many times to forgive.
