@TalI_guy Atlus centering Raidou would be like McDonald's changing the scent they put out into the air to brussel sprouts.
V should be there though over Royal or Reload though.
@Dankness01 Not ridiculous. The roleplay is more akin to a visual novel than an RPG, so it's hard to argue it as part of the gameplay like you can with Divinity or BG3.
That leaves the combat and level design.
The combat is horrible and the level design is ok.
@MagicMushMM I know there has been decline in aptitude with generations, but dudebros I've known played God of War, Smash, Mario, etc. in addition to ball n' gun.
The ball n' gun audience consists of non-gamers who use games as a hangout activity and clap for cinematic games like Dad of War.
@slitherwinglove@killyeyasu@gurosamsa Excluding EO, which has way more combat depth if you know what you're doing than any of the Toby games, your viewpoint makes sense now.
EO is also more gameplay focused than the Toby games too.
Very bizarre choice to play several anime simulators instead of more SMT-likes.
@uni_gree Minotaur is badly designed in a way where you can end up thinking it's not that bad, because there's as much a chance you steamroll him with no skill as he steamrolls you while prepared.
IV is special in that you can actually get through the whole game by brute forcing rng.
@CarcinogenSDA Personally, I'm skipping every cutscene, text box, etc. until the game proves I shouldn't drop it for not offering high quality in all three.
@CarcinogenSDA If you're a "capital G gamer", cultural relevance is far less important than build depth, challenge and exploration.
Casuals who only play like 3 genres are already excluded by the premise.
@Avisch_ I would've done this for Crimson Desert without the turbo speed mod.
I eventually did anyway, because they alternated locking the characters I wanted to play behind hours of slowtrotting and weak bosses.
