Not that it matters much, but I am taking a break from Twitter. With Trump coming back, I must seek other places. Haven't decided which alternatives to use yet. Anyone interested can find me on good ole email at [email protected].
That is all.
Wanna blame Trump for Herschel Walker? Fine, but DeSantis & Youngkin endorsed him too. Wanna blame Trump for Kari Lake? Fine, but DeSantis & Youngkin endorsed her too. Wanna blame Trump…
You get it. It’s not just Trump. They ALL endorsed ALL the crazies. They’re ALL to blame.
Democrats turned in the best midterm showing in two decades for a party holding the White House. Interviews with more than 70 people reveal the miscalculations, misreadings and infighting in both parties that led the GOP to blow its chance at a blowout. https://t.co/WVgWOcLBfW
The worst case for the GOP would be to have a very small (1-5) majority in both houses. They already have shown a general inability to govern when they held reasonable majorities (2017-19). And McCarthy is no Ryan or Boehner. The only thing McConnell can do is get judges.
Personally, I feel very manipulated by MSM and professional political blogs in this election. It seemed "everyone" was expecting the Red wave, and repeating that to the point of exhaustion. The only clear counter to that was Pelosi, who kept saying Dems were in it to win.
are pitifully small. But any disturbance in this privileged and generally uninformed country generates fear. We have completely forgotten FDR's cry, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
I am asked by my colleagues and students to assess what happened to the Dems; they know I am an American political behavioralist and was an operative for the Dem Party some time ago.
I respond that little has changed in the Dems. However, the Dem message of the politics of
hope has been crushed by the GOP campaign on the politics of fear. Among Americans, fear has triumphed over hope. Note that the GOP has no proposals on how to rid ourselves of fear; they are just really good at scaring us. TBH compared to the 70s, inflation, crime and costs
