I want to thank the leader of the free world, President Trump, for reiterating his promise to hold the regime to account. It is time for others, including European leaders, to follow his lead, break their silence, and act more decisively in support of the people of Iran.

I call on them to use all technical, financial, and diplomatic resources available to restore communication to the Iranian people so that their voice and their will can be heard and seen. Do not let the voices of my courageous compatriots be silenced.

Traveling to my grandfather’s funeral, I was deeply moved by the posters of the Bibas family at Tel Aviv airport, still held hostage in Gaza. Families are leaving letters and gifts, hoping for their safe return. It made me wonder how my grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, would have felt seeing this. It likely would have brought back painful memories of a time when the world failed to protect Jews from Nazi persecution.

Shiri and Yarden Bibas were kidnapped on October 7, along with their two young children—Kfir, just 9 months old, and Ariel, 4 years old. They’ve been in Gaza for 328 days.
