Statement from the Waukesha County Sheriff regarding the sales tax increase:

While nobody in their right mind would "want" any additional taxes. Unfortunately, thanks to Milwaukee County, it has to be necessary in the name of public safety. Huber had to be eliminated and sheriff deputies and detectives had to be cut. Patrol areas were also made larger which increases response times.

HALF of the people taken to the Waukesha County Jail on any given day are NON-COUNTY RESIDENTS.

The majority of people committing crimes in Waukesha County are NOT from or reside in Waukesha County.
