@DirtyTesLa I suspect that, like almost all of Tesla’s design choices, autonomy is a major factor in this decision.

It might signal a move towards wireless charging, which Tesla has been working on, and a robotaxi is not going to plug its own charging cable in. Eliminate moving parts.

@battleangelviv This weekend, I talked to an artist and PhD researcher in creative robotics, who uses robots in his work to question human-robot relations. I asked him for his opinion on the Tesla bot, and he replied with “what’s that?” Crazy how unaware most people are to what is happening.
