@warriorangel53@Telegraph I know many people that can work that are on benefits so it’s not the media pushing anything. The state pension should remain as a benefit, because people that work their entire lives should be getting rewarded for it when they retire
@MillieCheesey For some people they might do but I know quite a few people where they are better off being on benefits than actually working and not just by a couple £ I’m taking like £600+ a month
@MillieCheesey You really haven’t been outside have you? I have spoken to people that used to be working class and they have decided to go onto benefits because they are much better off. People don’t care about how they are labelled anymore, as long as they can do what they want when they want
@Mikethejourney1 It’s the exact same with the dentist and opticians. Obviously everyone is entitled to them but why should people that work be paying when there’s some that milk benefits and get them for free
@MrChristopher79@EssexPR Well that’s different though isn’t it. His son is still able to work and is eligible to claim. Whereas your son definitely needs any form of help he can get. It’s the ones that are milking the system that ruin it for the ones that truly need it.
@sianmariecurtis Another case with someone I know. Single mother with a son with severe autism. Obviously claims every benefit she can, which she should be allowed to do as her son needs 24/7 care. Wanted to work part time whilst her sons at school, she was told that she would lose all benefits
@sianmariecurtis Well it strictly is true, my colleagues wife claims universal credit. She can work and has done in the past. My colleague has told me that if his wife goes to work and works a full time job that they will be something like £500-£800 worse off a month
@RachelCDailey_ How do grown adults not know the basics of how economy works? I’m 22 and I know that if wages go up so does everything else. It’s not that difficult to know this
@nicky_NoPasaran@Telegraph Higher wages will do the opposite to small businesses because the price of everything goes up when wages go up. The only way small business can make money is to put the prices up, higher prices means less customers. That is why soo many small business are shutting down
@Lovehasnowords1@KShabby16334956 That is £78 for someone who is living with their parents. Why should anyone be getting money for not working when they don’t have major bills to pay and they can actually work. What do you mean helped back into paid employment? If they can work then they should be working from 16
@Lovehasnowords1@KShabby16334956 The rise of pension age I will agree with you, I already know that by the time I hit 60 there won’t be a state pension and it’s wrong because I’ve been working everyday since the age of 16
@kevinshirley73 Do you not realise how the economy and people work? If you tax the crap out the rich then they will just move to a different country. The rich pay a massive part of tax to our economy already, the rich pay more into our economy than the people that work standard jobs
@ClonklyC @warriorangel53@Telegraph Obviously not because you’re working. The minimal wage has gone up too high because companies have started to realise that they can start taking the piss with prices
@Kat_Says_Stuff@carlrmorrell@Marcothomas1 I have been brought up to graft, and hopefully one day it will pay off. A family friend has a son who is autistic, in which she claims benefits for him. She wants to work a part time job whilst he’s a school, she would actually loose out on big money if she does so
