@musicleem It’s a Google Slide I created based off of the 12 bar blues in C. Then I found out Hound Dog used that exact progression and had students play along to it!
Fourth grade students applying their knowledge of the 12 bar blues by playing the ukelele along to the C, F and G chords! #makingmusic#MIOSM @BCPSMusic
These amazing fifth graders sang and played the ukelele this morning to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month. So happy to have live music again 🎼🎶@BCPSMusic
This week we started our unit on The Nutcracker Ballet and Tchaikovsky’s music. Students demonstrated the musical form and rhythm of the Trepak using 🏀. We had a blast! #makemusicfun#Nutcracker
Third grade students used fall lyrics to create an original melody using Wixie and Song Maker. They used their knowledge of the pentatonic scale to create a singable melody. I was so impressed with their creations! 🎼🎶
First grade students learned about Hispanic Heritage month by learning “Mi Cuerpo” (my body) and assigned different instruments to go along with the song. They did a great job! @BCPSMusic @LbrownLaurie
So proud of my third graders for being determined and responsible to practice recorder on their own. They have had to learn virtually all year and they are rocking it! We are using Flipgrid for the first time this year and it’s a great digital tool! @BCPSMusic @shanejensen78
This morning our CLS students used Jamboard to create their own pattern using so and mi. Then they performed their pattern using our virtual Boomwhackers. I was so proud of them! #BCPSMusic
Third graders were working hard today in their breakout rooms playing a game to help them spell words on the staff. They are working towards mastering their lines and spaces so they can start recorder! @BCPSMusic
Very proud of my second graders practicing writing their rhythms as we introduced the half note! Ss then created their own pattern and recorded it using Schoology assessments. #musicliteracy @BCPSMusic
Getting creative with practicing our steady beat/tempo with kindergarten! Ss will practice tapping the steady beat with the pumpkins and if we end the song on their name they get to be the leader and choose a body percussion. #virtualmusic#getcreative
Fifth grade students responded to a listening map using Jamboard in order to discuss the timbre of orchestra instruments. We also reviewed key terms from unit 1 (dynamics and tempo). They had some great answers! @BCPSMusic
