No it is not the default gateway since the ping via ip address is working and remembering that anything that involves domain name is DNS so I'm this case there is an issue with the DNS server

The system has to check the local DNA cache first (B) to know of the ip of the website has been resolved. If it has been resolved then it used the ip of the website and if it hasn't been resolved it uses has to connect to the DNS server to resolve the get the website ip.

The answer is B because for a client an server to connect while using the TCP protocol the client must send a SYN request to the server and the Server replies with a SYN- ACK and then the Client replies with an ACK to complete the 3-way hand shake
