I thought the matcha green tea powder was wasabi. The locals must have thought I was crazy when I put matcha on my sushi. First time at a rotary sushi restaurant in Tokyo. The woman next to me put the wasabi in a mug and filled it from the spigot. Then, she grabbed the crock of wasabi off the conveyor belt.
