Scientific research shows that men and women speak a roughly similar number of words per day, debunking the popular myth that women talk three times more than men.

A Landmark 2007 Study says that women average 16,215 words/day while men average 15,669. The "talkative woman" stereotype is largely a myth.

The study doesn’t differentiate between a "myth" and a "mythuth". Personally, I speak more than enough words to get into trouble.
