I feel so blessed that others are enjoying The Heavenward Trail! I have some copies on hand locally, also available at Amazon. Get in the Word and stay on the Trail!
Anything placed above our relationship with Jesus as Lord is idolatry. A lot of us are in danger with the hobbies and pursuits we place in higher places, often unwittingly.
Christians should place great emphasis on their spiritual formation. Becoming more like Jesus is a cooperative effort with the Holy Spirit and our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is not meant to be individualized.
There is no place for arrogance or shame about the gifts God has given us or the ways in which we serve within the church. https://t.co/yWtJOJR08M via @thedocfile
THE HEAVENWARD TRAIL: A Devotional Companion to Colossians is my new book. Great for personal devotion, classes, small groups. There are questions at the end of each chapter, as well as 'Trail Markers' posting the major themes throughout the book.
We are incredibly honored to announce that John DeBerry will be the keynote speaker for the Amridge University Commencement on May 15, 2026!
Mr. DeBerry brings a lifetime of leadership, service, and faith to our graduating class. He served Memphis as the State Representative for House District 90 for 25 years (1995–2020) and recently completed his tenure as Governor Bill Lee’s Senior Advisor, where he championed education and faith-based initiatives.
A minister since 1968 and a graduate of both the University of Memphis and Freed-Hardeman University, his decades of executive business experience and dedication to public service make him the perfect voice to inspire our Class of 2026.
We look forward to celebrating with you next week!

I have experienced more times of extended loneliness in life than I have periods of trusted friendships. Through these times I have grown closer to the Lord and love Him more deeply every day.
This is likely the earliest Christian symbol, exactly as it appears in the oldest manuscript of the Gospel of Luke (c. AD 200). It is a clever ligature — superimposing the Greek letters tau (Τ) and rho (Ρ) to depict a man hanging on a cross. Even better, the scribe formed this image within the Greek word for "cross" (ΣΤΑΥΡΟΣ, stauros) in the words of Jesus: "Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:27). And, yes, this is my next T-shirt.
Believe it or not, there's a Bible education class for our students during the school day! Check out this page to learn more about the program and to enroll your child. https://t.co/TPxO13QEwK
