Today is my last day @timesunion. I've been at @Hearst Newspapers for almost 10 years and the TU for the last half dozen, so it's incredibly bittersweet to say goodbye. I've learned so much from all my colleagues and editors. I'm proud of the journalism we did together.

After helping a man more than a decade her senior get elected to town board she decided, no more holding herself back

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) presents herself as a “mom from Buffalo.” But she's now a NYC resident — at least for tax purposes — which means her $1.86M income last year would be captured by an income-tax hike sought by Mayor Zohran Mamdani that she opposes.

Now, nearly ~50 years later, Mamdani's allies are pushing for a similar pilot program in New York City (again.)

Are campaign donations support for past actions—or attempts to shape future ones? That question looms over Gov. Kathy Hochul’s push to lower car insurance costs, including major changes to how crash-related lawsuits are handled.

Hochul accuses state Democrats of being beholden to trial lawyers opposing her car insurance plan. Lawmakers say she’s influenced by insurers and Uber. The feud escalated Tuesday as both sides denied donations are driving decisions.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who is Catholic, criticized Trump on Tuesday for feuding with Pope Leo and for posting a now-delated photo of himself in a white robe with a hand on a man’s head.
