I need to try this. Codex bloat has gotten better, but it’s still a real issue for multiple local threads with subagents.
Lately I’ve been using SSH in Codex Desktop to run some of my projects on a remote VM which helps free up resources.
The struggle is still real on a base M4 Mac mini.
I’m going to be experimenting with a new personal AI workflow in the coming weeks.
It’s become apparent that I need exponentially more focus and clarity. I’m going to try to achieve that by:
- writing at least one journal log on weekends or Mondays to organize my thoughts and reorient my goals for the week
- have Codex read these and create tasks for actionable items
- experiment with Codex time blocking my calendar for me to try to achieve deep work and not procrastinate on goals
- give Codex access to email, analytics, meetings, along with journal logs so it can float important tasks and patterns to the top
For too long I’ve been in the weeds of building and never shipping or marketing.
That has to change, but that requires focus and higher level, bigger picture thinking with clarity.
This is a hopeful step in that direction.
Excellent, my passkey is in @1Password but the 1P browser extension is broken half the time, so I can’t login to my Stripe dashboard.
Crazy how 1Password went from the gold standard of password managers to a steaming pile that locks me out of accounts.
Is anyone actually experiencing decreased Codex rates on any plan?
On 20x I haven’t noticed any downgrades that people are talking about. 20x was never “unlimited” usage for me but I can get by on the weekly limit most times.
Holy crap, Codex got a massive upgrade I haven't seen anyone talk about.
Codex browser annotations added an element editor.
You can adjust all styles of an element, see results in real time, and send the changes to your agent to implement.
Codex just became indispensable, wow.
A Codex thread can spawn + prompt other Codex threads.
Your agent can manage agents which can manage subagents.
Codexception.

New Codex method i'm testing
Have codex tell codex what to do
- chat about your feature with the agent like before
- have the agent spawn and manage subagents to write and review all code
It mitigates human manual steps and maximizes the power of agents.
Annoying Codex iOS bug:
Permission settings and even reasoning don’t persist between app restarts or resuming threads from desktop.
I started a task on iOS and left the app only to come back see it didn’t work. Permissions were set to the local config.toml file which is empty.

The fundamental principles of AI:
It will never give you a great idea.
It will never have real taste.
It will help you execute your ideas much faster.
That doesn’t matter if you don’t have great ideas and real taste.
I started a Discord server for entrepreneurs actively building businesses to network and get feedback.
Your MRR doesn’t matter.
What matters is that you’re hungry. Hunger is the requirement for membership.
DM for invite. Seating may be limited.
Some of you noticed limits drained faster in Codex, we root caused it to an optimization that we rolled back that had an impact on cache hit rates when compacting across long running sessions.
We fixed this and have now reset usage limits for all accounts. Enjoy the weekend.
A big issue I’ve found with /goal in Codex:
If it hits a blocker, the agent will infinite loop.
It can’t mark the goal as ‘complete’ so the goal keeper says to continue.
Codes just says it can’t continue because X and Y blockers exist.
This repeats (using tokens) infinitely.
