I love it when you go to meet someone about family tree stuff and they give you a book about the place Alex Timpson’s family originate from! Mind Peter if that’s his real name was a bit of a mystery…. And weird even by my standards 🫣
Here we have two shots of store 154 in Barrow in Furness from 1967 and 1947 as you can see on the 1967 shot Woolworths appeared. The store was at 151 Dalton Road. @JayneMoobs
This is shop number 153 from 1953, I worked in the repair shop around the corner with Paul Dooley in the 1980's. The shop was on 32 Collage Street, Rotherham
Well off to London Town to visit the National Archives and the Society of Genealogists to try and find some answers and also learn a few tips! #TimpsonArchive#FamilyTree

Had a fantastic surprise when Barry got in touch about his Mursell family tree and then sent me info on 11 generations that is perfectly fact checked. In return I’ve sent him copies of a few books we published in the 1950’s to help him in his quest @JamesTCobbler#TimpsonArchive
