The 1965 Voting Rights Act was landmark legislation to stop states from diluting the vote of minorities - most notably Black voters in the South who had been systematically disenfranchised.
Last month, the US Supreme Court gutted it.
Today, Michigan became the first state in the country since that ruling to hold a legislative hearing on state level legislation to enshrine those rights. I was proud to cosponsor these bills and vote them out of committee.
ESPN remembers pioneering sports broadcaster Charlie Neal, who passed away Wednesday
Neal’s long career helped elevate #HBCU football & basketball on television
In 2005, he called the first college football game on @ESPNU when it launched
@HBCUGameday@ToochPXP This is truly sad news. Charlie was a legend, a mentor, and a friend. I was really hoping he would return to the booth this fall. I has the honor of working his final basketball game on HBCUGO last season. It didn’t occur to me at the time. It always felt like he would be here.
@MatSheltonEide Love this place. Philly is still a wonderful city to visit and live. Have not lived there in decades but its always going to be home. Richmond has Broad Street snd Wawa. That alone made me always love living in Richmond 😀.
@TMacPhils@CBSSports@MM_MBB_TV@AJRoss_TV@Candace_Parker Tom, you guys were very entertaining this weekend! You are one of the best baseball guys in the biz but I love your hoops work! Bonner is always on point too. I still learn from him. Well done.

@Symone_Stanley@MorehouseMBB@TheSIAC I thought that was you at courtside! I was on press row last night and tonight. Morehouse balled out tonight! What a game. Congrats to my guy Coach Larry Dixon!
