@timlinehan@CharlotteEDavie Not true. Many Independent schools don’t disallow ND children. We have lots of children that have accomadations in fact some parents opt to pay purely because thier child has needs that the state can’t deal with and will work two jobs to ensure that place.
@KitPeacock@timlinehan@cierzo1 Agreed. The school I work at has an amazing provision for ND students. We have a lot of children who have statement’s but many of the parents have had to pay to get diagnosis as the wait time is 2+ years! There is the difference in numbers.
@katypotts@MissPhilbin@Dr_Black@yallsop@mberry @Baggiepr @TsuiAllen@PhysicsRachel@AdaCollege Also for dyslexic students a hands on approach is often better. Things like flip chart pad with some marker pens and some past paper questions as key topic prompts or syllabus spec points. Takle weaknesses from unit test etc I find this approach is far more effective.
@NEUnion I went international teaching for 20 years. I have now returned, with whole wealth of experience. I’m now teaching for the same money as I was on when I left. I’m at the top of the main scale.
@Baggiepr I agree. Classroom education is a challenge for many. Some exceptions should be in place to this rule with stipulations so young people are able to work and develop away from formal education
