Exposing Hypocrisy: Xi Jinping's Call Against Corruption Masks China's Infiltration in the Philippines

Xi Jinping's recent emphasis on "rigorous Party governance" and the "unceasing battle against corruption" may sound noble, but beneath this rhetoric lies a stark contradiction. While China parades itself as a champion of reform and anti-corruption, its actions tell a different story—one of systematic infiltration and exploitation in the Philippines.

Through political manipulation and illegal industries such as POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators), China's influence has deeply penetrated Philippine society, threatening national security and eroding public trust. POGOs, in particular, have become hotbeds of illegal activities, including money laundering, human trafficking, and organized crime, all operating under the guise of "business."

This is not just an economic issue—it's a strategic one. China's covert operations aim to destabilize Philippine governance by fostering dependency and undermining sovereign institutions. Their actions contradict Xi's supposed "unceasing battle against corruption," revealing it as a mere façade to deflect global scrutiny while perpetuating corruption abroad.

The Philippines is not a playground for China’s geopolitical ambitions or illicit enterprises. Filipinos deserve a government and an economy free from foreign interference and exploitation. Xi Jinping's hollow statements will not mask the reality: China's actions are a direct assault on Philippine sovereignty and stability.

It is time for the Philippines to stand firm. China must be held accountable for its actions, and the Filipino people must reject any form of infiltration disguised as cooperation. The battle against corruption cannot succeed when the very perpetrators of systemic manipulation remain unchecked. From December 3 to 14, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) successfully carried out a resupply mission to bring essential supplies, provisions, and Noche Buena packages to Filipino troops stationed at BRP Sierra Madre and other Philippine-held islands in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). This operation symbolizes the unwavering commitment of the Philippines to ensure the well-being and morale of its soldiers who safeguard our nation's sovereignty every day, especially during the holidays.

Notably, this mission was conducted peacefully and without the need for permission or approval from any other country, including China. The resupply efforts affirm the Philippines' rightful jurisdiction over these maritime territories, as enshrined in international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the 2016 Arbitral Ruling.

Despite ongoing tensions and unwarranted interference by foreign vessels in the region, the AFP has consistently demonstrated resilience and resolve, reinforcing our country's claim to its rightful territories. Salute to our courageous defenders of Philippine sovereignty, who continue to stand their ground even in the most challenging circumstances.
