@MessyCT I agree with the idea that collaboration between districts would be a good idea. However, I think that we have to be careful that we aren’t instilling initiatives that don’t match up the goals, needs, and demographics of districts. #EDLR5402

Zepeda et al (2013) says “professional learning is positioned on a deficit model” rather than “through more developmental means”. But isn’t the point of PL to learn what is unknown in order to be better leaders/educators? #EDLR5402
We’ve learned that effective leaders create environments for continuous learning. According to this article, top-down evals aren’t effective. Personally, I’ve learned more from colleagues, observations, research, and reflection than the TEVAL process. Thoughts?#EDLR5402

This is why it’s absolutely necessary to use native language in the household to create truly bilingual/multilingual children. Native language(s) at home and English at school. Helps maintain both languages in the long run.
