Congratulations to Pathfinder: Kingmaker! One of the best CRPGs, in my opinion. It made me fall in love with the genre all over again, and since then, Owlcat has continued to release some amazing games!

Really looking forward to Dark Heresy and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn!

@Play4Index Not too surprised to hear this... GTAVI almost feels like a PS exclusive with the marketing being very PS heavy. Plus Rockstar and PS being criticized together probably doesn't help! Lol

If you’re not interested in buying the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection or you think it’s too expensive, that’s fair enough.

But try not to attack the people who are excited and who have pre-ordered it.

I’ve been putting money aside for the last year in anticipation for all of this.

I’m looking to get as much merchandise for this game as I possibly can. I’ve waited so long and these moments come along rarely.

Just let people enjoy the moment.

@LikeToBeBossy I totally respect that, and I’m genuinely glad physical games still give you that excitement! I just personally don’t see that being where the industry is headed long term. Different perspectives though, and I appreciate the civil conversation! 😊

I get it, and I’m saying this as someone who collects both vinyl and physical books. To me, those formats actually offer a different experience. Listening to a record or reading a physical book feels different from streaming an album or reading an e-book. I don’t really get that same distinction with games. Once I’m actually playing, the experience is essentially the same whether I downloaded the game or inserted a disc. PC is a good example, physical games have essentially disappeared there, and PC gaming continues to thrive. Obviously, PC has more competition between digital storefronts, so it’s not a perfect comparison, but the basic premise is similar. I completely understand the collecting aspect. I just don’t think physical games provide the same fundamentally different experience that vinyl or books do.

I think some of that criticism is based more on PlayStation’s strategy from a few years ago than where they are today. They definitely made mistakes with the live-service push, Concord being the obvious example, however, they also seem to have learned from those failures. PlayStation is still investing in live-service games, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Helldivers 2 showed that the model can work when the right game is there. Sony’s more recent statements emphasize balancing live-service games with single-player experiences, including consistent annual single-player releases. That’s really why I’m more optimistic about their direction now. I’m not saying PlayStation hasn’t made mistakes, they absolutely have. I just think they’ve shown signs of recognizing what wasn’t working and adjusting rather than continuing down exactly the same path.

@GermanStrands I feel like everyone wants these companies to change, but then when change actually happens, people get upset. You can’t ask for major changes and expect everything behind the scenes to stay exactly the same.
