She told him she wanted to keep the baby. He told her it was an electrolyte drink.

Jon Rueben Demeter, 25, of Spring, Texas had made his position clear. When his girlfriend told him she was 14 weeks pregnant, he tried multiple times to convince her to get an abortion. He reportedly even offered to pay $1,000 for her to travel out of state for the procedure. She refused every time. She wanted to keep their baby.

So investigators say he took matters into his own hands.

According to court documents, Demeter ordered abortion medication online, had it shipped to his home, crushed the pills into powder, and mixed them into a Liquid IV electrolyte drink. He then handed it to his girlfriend and was insistent she drink all of it. She did.

Around 1 a.m. the following morning she woke up feeling sick and rushed to the hospital. She gave birth to a stillborn baby girl. She and the family named her Presley Mae.

When investigators searched Demeter's home they found white powder residue inside a glass bowl and evidence of a crushed white pill. Demeter admitted he had ordered the medication online but denied putting it in the drink.

This week a Montgomery County grand jury indicted Demeter on a first-degree felony abortion charge and injury to a child. Prosecutors say this may be the first case of its kind in Texas under the state's abortion statute. The charge carries a sentence of five years to life in prison. He has been held without bond since his February arrest.

Presley Mae never had a chance. Her mother never got a choice.
