Picture this: 2000 years before Christ, long before the pyramids reached their peak or Rome was even a whisper, the ancient **Canaanites** built thriving city-states across the sun-drenched hills and coastal plains of what we now call the Land of Israel. These were the original inhabitants—Semitic peoples who farmed, traded, and carved out a civilization in the very heart of the Fertile Crescent. Their name? Canaan. Their legacy? The foundation upon which everything else was built.

Then, around 1200 BCE, a new chapter exploded onto the scene. From the Aegean Sea—ancient Greece and its island strongholds—came the **Philistines**, fierce seafaring warriors of the “Sea Peoples.” They weren’t locals. They were invaders who sailed in, settled the southern coast (think Gaza), and clashed with the rising Israelite tribes. After the Holocaust and centuries of Jewish longing, the modern State of Israel rises in 1948 on the ancestral soil of the Canaanites, Israelites, and their unbroken presence.
